Forget The Past And Get On With Your Life

Self-help guru Anthony Robbins said it correctly, “Your past does not equal your future.”

Oftentimes, your past and inability to accept mistakes keep you from loving yourself. Look, other people have done more stupid, reckless, and harmful things. These things are part of life. When these things happen, you should just accept them, acknowledge your faults, learn from experience, and move on.

Wallowing over something that you cannot change is an exercise of futility. You really can’t do anything to erase your past. What’s left really is for you to just move on and now try to be the best person that you can be in spite of your flaws.

You should be able to forgive yourself no matter how awful or traumatic the situation had been. Things happen for a reason. It is through these mistakes that you learn and enrich your life. Learn to forgive yourself and be able to finally move on with your life. Heed the advice of Paul Boesse, “Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.”
